Hi, I’m Michael! I have provided individualized mathematics tutoring since 2006, working one-on-one with students from elementary school through high school. I earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Iona University and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in teaching secondary education from Empire State University, expected in 2029. My academic background and nearly 20 years of tutoring experience allow me to explain mathematics clearly while adapting each lesson to the student’s needs and learning style.
I tutor elementary and middle school mathematics, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2/Trigonometry, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB and BC, and SAT/ACT Math. In recent years, much of my tutoring has been conducted remotely, and I have developed an effective online teaching approach using digital whiteboards, screen sharing, organized notes, and interactive problem-solving. I also have extensive experience with in-person instruction and tailor both formats to keep students engaged and actively working through the material.
I have helped students rebuild foundational skills, prepare for accelerated and honors courses, and succeed in advanced mathematics. Recent results include students earning scores of 4 and 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam, along with SAT Math scores in the 700–800 range.
My approach is patient, structured, and focused on genuine understanding. I break challenging concepts into manageable steps using diagrams, guided examples, and carefully selected practice. Rather than simply showing students how to get an answer, I help them understand why a method works, recognize when to use it, and apply it independently. Please contact me to discuss your student’s goals and schedule a lesson. Together, we can build stronger skills, greater confidence, and a clearer path forward in mathematics.
