Bio

Hey! I'm Eleni! I earned my B.A. in three years from Boston University in 2016 with a double major in Biological Anthropology and Modern Greek. I received honors in both of my majors and began law school at Suffolk University in Boston in 2019. Once I graduated law school in May 2022, I moved to New York and am currently working in a law firm, where I delve into my interest of Health Law.

Hey!

Coupled with my passion for the law is my love for teaching. Believe it or not, I have always dreamed of becoming a teacher. While I love my job, being able to teach makes me feel fulfilled and makes me feel as though I am giving back. I have been tutoring others in a range of subjects ever since my freshman year of high school. For example, I taught American Sign Language to hearing students throughout high school, and I taught English reading and writing skills to Deaf students. In college, I began helping high school students throughout their college application process. There is nothing more rewarding and satisfying than helping my mentees achieve their dreams and watching stress lift off their shoulders as they gain confidence in their qualifications and application.

Another area that I love to tutor in is violin. I teach to elementary school students every other Saturday. I have been classically trained since the age of 8 and simply enjoy passing on the torch to other curious musicians.

Approved Subjects

Anthropology

Anthropology

At Boston University, one of my majors was Anthropology. While I specialized in Biological Anthropology, I loved taking classes and exploring every aspect of the anthropological field - including linguistic anthropology, medical anthropology, anthropology of sex and gender, etc. Before graduating, I earned honors in my Anthropology major by completing an honors thesis in the gene pool of Cyprus.
Greek

Greek

I earned a Greek major during my undergraduate studies at Boston University. I received honors in my Greek major and received BU's book award for Greek - this is given to the most accomplished student in the Greek field. I have studied abroad in Greece and continue to practice my Greek every day; I have also taught Greek in the past.
Proofreading

Proofreading

As a lawyer, I have had innumerable experiences where I had to proofread. It is an integral part of my job. Prior to becoming a lawyer, my life was still filled with proofreading both mine and my peers' work - I worked for two journals during my undergraduate career, took challenging writing classes, and took AP literature and writing courses in high school. To say the least, proofreading is, and always has been, a major part of my life.
Reading

Reading

As a lawyer, reading - especially reading critically - makes up a significant portion of my job. Even before I became a lawyer, reading took up a significant portion of my time. I worked for two journals during my undergraduate career, took challenging writing classes, and took AP English courses in high school which required me to read and understand a plethora of classic literature.
Violin

Violin

I have been playing violin since I was eight years old. I studied under many prestigious musicians, such as Michael Korn, Yelena Prizant, and Irina Fainkichen. I have auditioned and played for a number of competitive orchestras, such as orchestras of New England Conservatory, South Eastern Massachusetts School Bandmasters Association (SEMSBA) and District Orchestra (another prestigious orchestra in which auditions are required and only a select few students from each school qualified). I continued playing violin in Boston University's all campus orchestra. I currently teach violin recreationally.
Writing

Writing

As a lawyer, I have had innumerable experiences where I must write. It is an integral part of my job. Prior to becoming a lawyer, my life was still filled with writing complex essays and other assorted pieces. For example, I worked for two journals during my undergraduate career, took challenging writing classes, and took AP English courses in high school. To say the least, writing is, and always has been, a major part of my life.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Eleni and I worked on the letters of the Greek alphabet, because I had told her I wanted to be able to read simple signs in Greek. After going through the alphabet, she wrote a few words to see if I could sound them out. She also helped me with my pronunciation of the letters and the words. That was plenty for me for the first lesson!
