I earned my B.A. in Psychology from American University and have several years of experience supporting students in classroom, small-group, and one-on-one settings. As an Education Specialist, I managed a caseload of more than 25 students, identified academic gaps through assessments and classroom performance, developed individualized learning strategies, and collaborated with teachers and families to monitor progress. Previously, as a City Year AmeriCorps member, I provided individualized and small-group academic support to middle school students, including 7th- and 8th-grade students.
My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs. I begin by identifying what a student already understands and where additional support is needed, then break challenging concepts into manageable steps and adapt my explanations to their learning style. My goal is not simply to help students find the correct answer, but to strengthen their understanding, confidence, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
