Bio

I am an incoming Vanderbilt University student majoring in education, and I am currently studying advanced calculus. Throughout high school, I earned all A’s in math courses, which built a strong foundation in elementary math, Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, geometry, and precalculus. My academic background has given me both the content knowledge and the discipline to explain math clearly, patiently, and in ways that are accessible to different types of learners.

In addition to my own coursework, I have experience helping students improve their performance and confidence in math. I have helped multiple students raise their grades from a C to an A by using tailored lesson plans that focus on their individual strengths and struggles. I have also hosted my own nonprofit organization, where I oversaw lesson planning for around 50 people, which strengthened my ability to organize instruction and think carefully about how students learn best. My teaching experience has included individualized support and structured academic guidance, and I always adapt my approach to the student’s age, pace, and goals.

When I tutor, I am happy to help with homework, but my main goal is to make sure students truly understand the material and feel confident on tests. I use fun, targeted practice, personalized strategies, and memorable tips and tricks to help students master formulas and problem-solving methods. I am also willing to find high-quality worksheets or design my own worksheets when needed so that students can get the kind of practice that works best for them. My goal is not only to help students get the right answer, but also to help them become more confident, independent math learners.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have helped students improve from a C to an A by breaking Algebra 1 concepts into simple, manageable steps. I support students with equations, inequalities, graphing, functions, and word problems using clear explanations and targeted practice. My teaching style is very personalized, and I adjust each lesson based on where a student is struggling most. I am happy to help with homework, but my main goal is to help students feel confident on quizzes and tests.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have a strong math background and currently study advanced calculus. I understand the importance of mastering Algebra 2, as it will be used a lot in the future. I work with students on topics such as functions, polynomials, rational expressions, exponential models, and logarithms. Because Algebra 2 can feel overwhelming, I focus on teaching patterns, strategies, and step-by-step methods that make hard problems feel much more manageable. I also use customized practice to strengthen both understanding and speed.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I have experience teaching elementary math in group settings with more than 20 students at a time, which helped me learn how to keep lessons clear, engaging, and easy to follow. I focus on building strong foundations in arithmetic, fractions, word problems, and overall math confidence. As an incoming Vanderbilt University elementary education student, I care deeply about making math approachable and encouraging for younger learners. I also create tailored practice and can find or design worksheets based on each student’s needs.
Geometry

Geometry

One of my favorite parts of teaching geometry is helping students actually visualize what they are learning. I like to explain concepts through real-world examples and 3D demonstrations so that shapes, angles, area, volume, and spatial reasoning feel much more concrete. I know geometry can be difficult because it combines logic, vocabulary, and visual thinking, so I guide students carefully through each step. My goal is to help students not only solve problems correctly but also truly see and understand the math.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I help students build a strong foundation in prealgebra by making sure they fully understand the basics before moving into more advanced math. I support students with topics like integers, fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, expressions, and solving simple equations in a clear and patient way. Because prealgebra is such an important bridge to future math classes, I focus on helping students feel confident, not rushed, as they strengthen their skills. I also use tailored practice and can find or create worksheets to match each student’s specific needs.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Because I once studied precalculus non-routine (known to be the hardest math class in my school), I understand how challenging precalculus can feel and which concepts usually cause students the most trouble. At the same time, that experience gives me strong tips, shortcuts, and memory tricks that students often do not get in a regular classroom. I help students with functions, trigonometry, logarithms, sequences, and other key precalculus topics using clear explanations and lots of guided practice. My approach is focused on helping students feel prepared, capable, and much less intimidated by higher-level math.
