Eventually, Angie became a dual citizen of America and the United Kingdom. At first, she completed a Master’s degree in Victorian Literature at the University of London, Birkbeck. During her studies, she worked in children’s book publishing in editorial and marketing. Angie decided to leave publishing to re-train to become an English, Media and Drama teacher. She earned her teaching credential from The Institute of Education, University College London in 2012.
As a teacher, Angie delivers composition, creative writing and English linguistic and literature curriculums to students globally. Her specialization now is writing for competitions, for which she has experience securing regional award recognition for nine out of the 11 categories in the Scholastic Art and Writing competition. Last year, five students earned a National Award for Scholastic. Angie expanded her work with young people to include winning pieces in global competitions like: New York Times, The John Locke Competition and The Bow Seat Ocean Awareness competition. In 2023, she was awarded the Bow Seat Educator Innovation Award, which came with a grant.
Angie can support students' prep school or university application essays, and has tutored students in the English GCSE and A-Level curriculum, in the American Common Core and American or English international schools globally.
Apart from her teaching experience, Angie founded a not-for-profit called CreativityUnleashed that uses the creative arts and publication platforms to provide opportunities for young people.
Angie currently serves as a writing Professor at Russell Sage College in NY and is a writing judge for Scholastic. This she does alongside her own creative writing.
