I have a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology with a minor in Pharmacology and Toxicology, a Master of Science in Biotechnology with a concentration in Biochemistry and Separation Science, and I am currently pursuing a PhD through the Roswell Park Graduate Division at the University at Buffalo, where my research focuses on prostate cancer metabolism and epigenetics. My academic and research training has given me a strong foundation in biology, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, pharmacology, and related life sciences, along with extensive laboratory and data analysis experience.

I have been involved in teaching at the University at Buffalo and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center since 2017. I have served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate and graduate courses, working with groups of approximately 15 to 60 students. My teaching experience includes clinical biochemistry, bioseparation techniques, clinical hematology and hemostasis, genomic and proteomic analyses, tumor microenvironment, and epigenetics. I have led review sessions, held office hours, assisted students with laboratory experiments, provided one-on-one academic support, and delivered lectures and discussions. I focus on breaking complex scientific concepts into manageable pieces and adapting my explanations to each student's needs.

My combination of formal education, research experience, and teaching experience allows me to support students in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, pharmacology, and related life sciences. I enjoy helping students build both understanding and confidence by encouraging questions, working through problems step by step, and connecting concepts to practical examples.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have extensive experience applying algebraic and quantitative reasoning throughout my academic and research training in biotechnology, including analyzing experimental data, working with equations, interpreting graphs, and performing calculations. My background in biochemistry, pharmacology, and laboratory science has required consistent use of mathematical concepts such as ratios, proportions, unit conversions, concentrations, dilutions, and statistical analysis. Through my teaching experience at the University at Buffalo, I have developed a strong ability to break down complex problems into clear, manageable steps and explain the reasoning behind each solution. I enjoy helping students build confidence in algebra by connecting mathematical concepts to practical examples and focusing on understanding rather than memorization.
Biochemistry

Biochemistry

I have extensive academic and research experience in biology, with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biotechnology and current PhD training focused on cancer biology, metabolism, and epigenetics. My coursework and research have given me a strong foundation in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, physiology, and related life sciences. I have taught biology-related topics as a teaching assistant at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including clinical biochemistry, cellular and molecular interactions, epigenetics, and genomic and proteomic analysis. I enjoy helping students understand challenging biological concepts by breaking them into manageable pieces and connecting them to real-world examples and experimental research.

Geometry

Geometry

I have extensive experience applying quantitative and mathematical reasoning throughout my academic and research training in biotechnology, including working with measurements, proportions, graphs, and spatial relationships. My teaching experience at the University at Buffalo has strengthened my ability to break down complex problems into clear, manageable steps and explain mathematical concepts effectively. I enjoy helping students build confidence in geometry by connecting concepts such as shapes, angles, area, volume, and proportions to practical examples, with an emphasis on understanding rather than memorization.
Statistics

Statistics

I have extensive experience applying statistics and quantitative analysis throughout my academic and research career in biotechnology and cancer biology. My research has involved analyzing experimental data, interpreting statistical results, creating data visualizations, and using programs such as RStudio, GraphPad Prism, and IBM SPSS Statistics to evaluate biological experiments. I have experience with statistical concepts including descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, comparisons between groups, correlation, regression, and analysis of experimental data. I enjoy helping students understand both how to perform statistical analyses and, more importantly, how to interpret the results and communicate what the data means.
