I am a previously licensed k-6 NYS teacher but found my footing and passion with working with kids 3-20 diagnosed with development delays. I went back to school for Applied Behavior Analysis and have been a certified BCBA since 2017, licensed in NY, PA, and previously in UT. I stress the importance of person centered, trauma informed care and work closely with autism and ADHD populations.
The first company where I worked provided both ABA and mental health services, so my interests started shifting away from strictly ABA practices and encompassing mental health support. I tried to find a bridge to combine these, and I found ACT, or Acceptance and Commitment Training, to be that. I specialize in comorbidities and teach psychology flexibility and learning to align your behavior with natural reinforcement. And I love teaching others to do this.
I will scream from the mountain top the benefits of the "new ABA" and want to teach others how important person-centered approaches are in the field.
