I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree at Nazareth University, where I am double majoring in Speech-Language Pathology and Spanish with a minor in Spiritual Care. Before college, I graduated from Corcoran High School with an Advanced Regents Diploma, Mastery in Science distinction, and an International Baccalaureate Diploma. My education has given me a strong foundation in language, literature, history, communication, and critical thinking, all of which I enjoy sharing with students.
I have been working with children for several years in both volunteer and professional settings. I have volunteered in Pre-K classrooms, worked as a teaching assistant for a Shakespeare and theater summer camp serving elementary-aged students, and currently work as a Pre-K teaching assistant with the Syracuse City School District. While my formal classroom experience has been with students ages 4 to 11, I have also spent many years helping classmates through informal peer tutoring, particularly with reading, writing, literature, and history coursework.
As a tutor, I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe that strong reading and writing skills are the foundation for success in every subject, and I enjoy helping students develop confidence in their ability to understand complex texts, organize their ideas, and express themselves clearly. Whether we are working through a novel, improving essay writing, strengthening reading comprehension, or making historical events more engaging and meaningful, I adapt my teaching to each student's learning style. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them become more confident, independent learners who enjoy discovering new ideas.
