Hello! My name is Destiny, and I am a PhD-trained cancer biologist with a strong background in biology, math, and chemistry. I bring over four years of tutoring experience to my sessions, including three years tutoring college-level students in math and chemistry during my undergraduate training, and one year tutoring graduate-level biology students while completing my PhD. I now enjoy working with elementary, middle school, and high school students, helping them build strong foundations, improve grades, and gain confidence in science and math.
My tutoring style is very student-led and supportive. I like to meet students where they are, encourage lots of questions, and celebrate progress along the way. I use positive reinforcement and active learning strategies—such as interactive discussions and fun review games like Kahoot—to keep sessions engaging and low-stress. I’m patient, organized, and focused on helping students not only do better in their classes, but also learn how to think through problems on their own and feel more confident tackling new challenges
