My name is Tony S. and I am a math teacher turned financial professional. I enjoy the process of teaching people in my past and current career. I have always enjoyed learning and math was always my favorite subject, and school has always held a special place in my heart.
My Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY, where I also completed dual minors in French and Computer Science. My Master's degree in Teaching Adolescent Mathematics (7-12) was earned at SUNY Oswego.
I taught math in classroom settings in Syracuse, BOCES (Liverpool), Corning, and Ithaca during the years my spouse was completing her education, and experienced a variety of students and families from diverse backgrounds. I enjoy working with all types of learners and finding what makes math click with them. I believe that success often starts with building a relationship of trust and fostering an environment where students can be comfortable asking questions and making their best attempts.
The subjects I have previously taught, co-taught, or tutored are as follows: Math 7, Math 8, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Personal Finance, Java Programming, Pre-Calculus.
My wife and I have 3 cats, and we enjoy playing board and video games together. I also enjoy hiking, golfing, pickleball, and cooking. It would be a pleasure to meet and tutor you or your student!
