Is your student not achieving the academic results he/she wants? As a Learning Specialist, my methods are unique - I go beyond subject tutoring to teach students how to learn, so that they can independently tackle any academic challenge that comes their way. I use the student’s class content (studying for upcoming tests and/or challenging homework) to teach research-based learning techniques, providing a web of skill and content support that is optimal for creating lasting academic success. Your student will walk away with a personalized toolbox of strategies that can be applied to all areas of his or her academic career. These strategies are also extremely useful for success later in life!

I have 18 years experience as a Learning Specialist in public and prestigious boarding and independent schools, focusing on brain-based learning. I teach all achievement levels of students, from high-achieving students who want to become more effective and efficient in learning, to struggling students who need more academic support. With a Masters of Education in Teaching Students with Special Needs, 5-12, I specialize in: academic coaching for top level, high-achieving students; Executive functioning support; Learning support for students with disabilities, including ADHD, Learning Disabilities (including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia), and anxiety; Built-in content support in most areas of high school curriculum during skill-based strategy sessions. As a former high school math teacher, I am can work with upper level math and science, as well as reading, writing, and other content areas.
