I am a second-year Neurology resident physician with a strong academic foundation in the biomedical sciences and a passion for teaching and mentorship. I earned my M.D. from St. George’s University School of Medicine and have also completed a Master’s in Public Health and a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences. My undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University focused on Biomedical Science with a neuroscience concentration. Throughout my academic career, I have consistently engaged in tutoring and teaching, particularly in the foundational sciences that are critical for pre-med and early medical students.
My teaching experience began in college as an undergraduate teaching assistant for mammalian histology, where I supported students in understanding complex microscopic structures and concepts. In medical school, I served as an Open Peer Learning Group Facilitator, leading weekly virtual sessions for fellow students. In this role, I developed structured presentations, high-yield study guides, and review materials tailored to different learning styles. I emphasized active learning through discussion, practice questions, and breaking down difficult topics into clear, manageable concepts. My efforts were recognized with a formal letter of recognition for dedication to teaching.
I have worked with students in both group and one-on-one settings over several years, ranging from undergraduate pre-med students to pre-PA and medical students. My approach focuses not only on mastering content in subjects like biology, neuroscience, and physiology, but also on building effective study strategies and critical thinking skills. As someone who has successfully navigated the path from pre-med to residency, I am passionate about mentoring students and helping them gain confidence, clarity, and direction in their academic journey.
