I am thrilled at the opportunity to help you or your child excel academically! With a strong background in Physics and Mathematics, combined with hands-on tutoring experience, I am confident in my ability to make complex concepts more understandable and engaging.

I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Mississippi, achieving a GPA of 3.92/4.0 (Summa Cum Laude). During my time at university, I actively participated in research, collaborating on the Belle II experiment, where I gained valuable analytical and problem-solving skills.

As a private tutor, I have organized and led after-school math tutoring sessions, focusing on providing individualized support to K-12 students. I have experience in teaching both math and Earth science, regularly evaluating student work to identify and target areas needing improvement. Additionally, I specialize in tutoring ACT/SAT math, helping students to improve their test-taking strategies and scores. I attained a score of 34 on the ACT math section, so I have firsthand experience with the skills and techniques needed to excel.

Every student is unique, and I tailor my sessions to fit their individual needs and learning styles. I believe in presenting material in a way that resonates with the student, whether through visual aids, real-world examples, or step-by-step explanations. A solid understanding of foundational concepts is crucial. I ensure that my students grasp the basics before moving on to more advanced topics. In algebra, for example, this means mastering solving equations, graphing, and understanding functions.

I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work with you and help you achieve your academic goals! Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a session.

ACT Math

ACT Math

I attained a 34 on the ACT math section. I also have a year of experience tutoring students on the difficult questions that can appear on the test. I attained my B.S. in mathematics from the University of Mississippi as well.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have tutored many students in algebra, solidifying their foundational skills so they can move onto more complex topics. I have a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Mississippi, where I graduated summa cum laude.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have tutored many students in algebra in the past. I have used algebra in my daily life for many years now, so I know the ins and outs of learning the foundational skills needed.
Calculus

Calculus

I attained my B.S. in physics and mathematics from the University of Mississippi, graduating summa cum laude. In addition to taking 4 classes on calculus and analytical geometry, I also took a proof-based calculus class. Teaching my students the foundations of these proofs better helps their understanding of course material.
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

I have a dual degree in Physics and Mathematics. Both subject areas are very heavy in the use of differential equations. I took a differential equations class in undergrad and came out with an A, learning the skills needed to excel in learning and applying differential equations.
GRE

GRE

I took the GRE just recently this past fall and got a 168 quantitative score. I have a strong grasp of the skills needed to excel on this test, providing possible entry to some of the world's most prestigious schools.
Physics

Physics

I attained my B.S. in physics and mathematics from the University of Mississippi, graduating summa cum laude. I have taken many physics courses, including the basic foundational classes, as well as quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, special relativity, and thermodynamics.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I have my B.S. in mathematics and have used the skills learned in prealgebra for well over a decade now.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I have my B.S. in mathematics from the University of Mississippi. When I was in high school, I tutored many of my classmates in precalculus, and have kept up with tutoring many others in algebra since then.
Probability

Probability

I attained my B.S. in mathematics from the University of Mississippi, graduating summa cum laude. I have used ideas involving probability and counting mathematics in many courses, including discrete mathematics and statistical dynamics.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I have helped many students in the past improve their SAT math scores. I have excellent knowledge of what types of questions appear on the test as well as the most efficient ways to go about solving them. There are often many ways to solve these problems but solving them in a short amount of time is often the difficult part. This is my area of expertise - time management.
Spanish

Spanish

I have taken multiple years of Spanish classes throughout high school and undergrad, earning an A in all of them.
Statistics

Statistics

When in undergrad, I took many statistics courses including elementary statistics, advanced statistics, and actuarial science, getting an A in all of them. With this experience, I can explain even the toughest of topics that you may encounter in your statistics course.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I attained my B.S. in mathematics and physics from the University of Mississippi, graduating summa cum laude. The use of trigonometry is prevalent in both physics and mathematics, so I have a very strong grasp of all of the course concepts.

Thorough and clear tutor

Graham does a great job explaining things in a calm, clear manner. He doesn't go too fast to where I can't keep up with what he's saying, but he also doesn't go too slow to where we aren't maximizing our lesson time. Graham continually checks to see if I understand him as he is explaining concepts and problems.

Knowledgeable

Graham provides instruction in mathematics and physics to my children. Regardless of the complexity of the subject matter, he possesses the ability to present the material in a manner that is comprehensible to them. His patience is commendable, as he ensures that my children fully grasp the concepts before proceeding to the next topic.
