My name is Cameron, and I am a medical student who recently earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stony Brook University. Throughout my undergraduate education, I was consistently named to the Dean's List every semester while balancing a wide range of academic, leadership, research, and service commitments. I founded the American Cancer Society chapter at Stony Brook University, served as an Organic Chemistry Teaching Assistant (teaching over 1000 students at once!), worked as a medical scribe, conducted neuroscience research that resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications.

My passion for tutoring comes from my own educational journey. Some of the most influential people in my academic career were tutors, teaching assistants, and mentors who helped me understand difficult concepts, build confidence, and develop a genuine interest in the subjects I was studying. As a tutor, I strive to provide that same guidance by helping students not only improve their grades, but also strengthen their problem-solving skills, study habits, and confidence as learners.

I have several years of experience working with students in both individual and group settings. I have taught piano and guitar to students ranging from four to fifteen years old, provided academic support in subjects including mathematics, biology, chemistry, English, and standardized test preparation. My experience as an Organic Chemistry TA at SBU allowed me to work with hundreds of students, helping them navigate challenging coursework through office hours, review sessions, and one-on-one guidance.

I currently offer online tutoring and am available for in-person sessions throughout portions of New York, primarily Westchester County. My teaching philosophy centers on patience, adaptability, and communication. Every student learns differently, and I tailor each lesson to fit the individual's needs, learning style, and goals. I aim to create a supportive environment where questions are encouraged and progress is celebrated.

MCAT

MCAT

As an incoming medical student and recent Biology graduate from Stony Brook University, I have extensive experience with the MCAT and the scientific concepts it tests. I scored a 131 on the Chemical and Physical Foundations section and have helped students strengthen their understanding of biology, chemistry, physics, biochemistry, and critical reasoning through both tutoring and teaching. As an Organic Chemistry Teaching Assistant, I worked closely with students to master difficult concepts and develop effective study strategies for high-stakes examinations. My approach emphasizes content mastery, passage analysis, test-taking strategy, and efficient study planning to help students maximize their scores and achieve their medical school goals.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

As an incoming medical student and Biology graduate from Stony Brook University, I have several years of neuroscience research experience studying chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy and neuroprotective therapeutics. My work has resulted in a peer-reviewed publication, and I have extensive experience analyzing experimental data, scientific literature, neurobiology concepts, and research methodologies. In addition, I have worked with physician-scientists in neuro-oncology, gaining exposure to brain tumor research, neuroscience applications in medicine, and translational research. I enjoy helping students understand both the foundational principles of neuroscience and the critical thinking skills needed to interpret experiments, research papers, and complex neurological systems.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

As an incoming medical student, published researcher, and longtime editor for The Statesman at Stony Brook University, I have extensive experience helping students develop compelling personal narratives and polished application essays. I have reviewed and edited personal statements for college, graduate school, medical school, scholarships, and other competitive programs, focusing on clarity, authenticity, structure, and storytelling. My background in journalism and scientific writing allows me to help students communicate complex experiences in a way that is both engaging and professional. Rather than simply correcting grammar, I work closely with students to identify meaningful themes, strengthen their voice, and create essays that leave a lasting impression on admissions committees.
Piano

Piano

As an avid piano player for almost ten years, I have had plenty of experience with learning, performing, and teaching an instrument I know very well. I have performed at local and regional recitals and have experience teaching students aged four to 15 for over a year in piano as well as other instruments.
Regents

Regents

As an incoming medical student and Biology graduate from Stony Brook University, I have a strong foundation in the subjects most commonly tested on New York State Regents examinations, including Biology, Chemistry, Algebra, and Geometry. Through my experience as an Organic Chemistry Teaching Assistant and private tutor, I have helped students strengthen their understanding of core concepts, improve problem-solving skills, and prepare confidently for major exams. I focus on identifying knowledge gaps, practicing Regents-style questions, and developing effective test-taking strategies tailored to each student's needs. My goal is not only to help students succeed on their Regents exams but also to build the academic foundation necessary for future coursework.
