It is no surprise that advanced math is a huge component in learning Physics. As a seasoned instructor of Physics, and having been a Physics student myself, I can attest that above all other math, Calculus is most frequently used and therefore must be mastered when in pursuit of a Physics degree.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Physics. I also have over 4 years of experience working as a Physics Lab Technician at Kingsborough Community College.
One hurdle many students face, when learning math and science, is their instructors often forget how difficult the topic is for newcomers to understand. From my personal experience of learning and teaching math and physics, I have seen bright students failed by inadequate instructors who expected for students to understand complex concepts with minimal explanations. These bright students are led to believe they are unfit because they do not readily grasp concepts, but that is not true. I believe everyone learns at their own pace, and with the right guidance and patience, anyone can succeed.
