I am a New York City math teacher with a B.S. in Financial Mathematics from Baruch College. I currently teach 8th grade mathematics, where I work with students on algebra, number sense, proportional relationships, exponents, equations, geometry, and multi-step problem solving. I also have prior classroom experience working with elementary and middle school students, which has helped me learn how to explain the same concept in different ways depending on a student's needs.

I currently teach 8th grade mathematics, where I work with students on algebra, number sense, proportional relationships, exponents, equations, geometry, and multi-step problem solving. My tutoring approach is structured, patient, and focused on understanding rather than memorizing steps. I first identify where a student is getting stuck, then break the problem into smaller pieces and model an efficient strategy before having the student try similar problems independently. I emphasize clear reasoning, accuracy, and recognizing patterns so students become more confident solving unfamiliar questions on their own.

I am especially interested in SHSAT Math preparation, middle school math, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra I. For SHSAT students, I focus on strengthening the underlying math skills while also developing efficient problem-solving strategies, pacing, and accuracy.
