I am adamant about the fact that ALL children can learn. My lessons include many modalities. I use games and other hands on activities to teach children before expecting them to use paper and pencil to solve math problems. I often use trade books to connect reading to math so children can see real life connections to what they are learning.
In my role as Math Coach and Consultant, I have provided lesson plans and worksheets to the publisher I worked with in addition to editing some of his own resources including Teacher's Manuals and Student editions of books.
I am confident I can help your child improve their math skills whether they need help help catching up to grade level or to prepare for the next grade. I believe in a spiral curriculum, constantly reviewing previously learned skills that need to be mastered and applied to new skills and content.
