Hi! I’m Maame, a Harvard graduate with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a secondary field in Global Health and Health Policy. I currently work as a scientist in vaccine research and have several years of research experience in infectious disease, immunology, molecular biology, and computational analysis. My scientific background includes research at Harvard-affiliated institutions and the Broad Institute, as well as an undergraduate thesis focused on HIV and plasma proteomics. These experiences have given me both a strong foundation in the sciences and extensive practice explaining complex concepts clearly through writing, presentations, and one-on-one discussions.
I have been a private tutor since 2021, working one-on-one with 9th- and 10th-grade students in advanced chemistry and Algebra II. I prepare customized lessons and practice problems based on each student’s areas of difficulty rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I have also worked as a mentor and educational consultant with the Big Red Group, where I delivered leadership and college-readiness workshops to more than 50 high school students across India and Dubai. In that role, I provided individualized coaching and mentored student teams as they developed and presented education-focused projects.
My tutoring style is supportive, interactive, and tailored to each student. I focus on helping students understand the “why” behind a concept rather than simply memorizing information, and I use questions and practice problems to identify gaps in understanding. I also support students with academic writing and college essays, helping them strengthen structure, clarity, and storytelling while preserving their individual voice. Whether we are working through a challenging science problem or refining an essay, my goal is to help each student become a more confident and independent learner.
