I have been a teacher for more than twenty-four years. I first started teaching in Guyana at the tender age of seventeen. However, I stopped after one year and then started again at the age of twenty-two. I became a certified teacher in Guyana in 2002. Early in my career, I was a primary/elementary school teacher. After I obtained a BA in English in 2006, I started teaching high school and later became the Head of the English Department at Mackenzie High School, Linden, Guyana.

In addition to my job at Mackenzie High School, I was also a tutor with Cyril Potter College of Education. I tutored college students the essentials of English Language and Linguistics. Furthermore, I traveled yearly to Jamaica to assist with the marking of the advanced level subject, Communication Studies, an examination written by Caribbean students and designed by the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC), Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Exams (CAPE).
Ever since migrating to the United States of America in 2017, I have been tutoring relatives and friends. I now work at CAMBA as an Adult Education Instructor. I obtained my M.Ed. in Teaching English Learners and will soon become a doctoral candidate.
