I have a passion and dedication for teaching children and youngsters with special needs. For the past 18 plus years I have been teaching in a private not for profit school for children and youngsters with different needs.
I am permanently certified to teach Special Education and Reading Education K through 12 and my methods are influenced by a belief that each student learns in a different way. Therefore I incorporate a multi-modality approach when teaching. You must realize that learning does not take place in a linear fashion, rather it traverses hills and valleys, and some straight roads. Every student is capable of learning, and using a teaching methodology that seeks to reach all different students' with varying degrees of academic ability is necessary to help them reach their potential.
I am successful with my students and also believe that teaching is a calling that is both inborn and learned. Students' must feel self-confident when learning new concepts, as this will help motivate them to strive for better in themselves. In addition, I have experience teaching individual students' in their homes after school, and have achieved success in this setting as well.
