I love to teach and enjoy exposing students to the wonders of the Spanish language and culture. My family is from Spain and though I was born in the United States I could not speak English when I went to school, so I truly do understand how difficult it is to learn another language. I am an Adjunct professor at St Joseph's College, Suffolk Community College and Five Towns College. I have worked with all age levels from five years old thru adults. I truly have a passion for teaching and for this wonderful language. I love to work on all aspects of the language: speaking, grammar, reading writing, and teaching about the different cultural traditions of each country. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My degree is in both Spanish and English. I have also taught English in business school. Before there was spell and grammar checks on the computers, I taught the human word processors. All errors on hard copies were corrected by trained people.
My minor is in English. I am tutoring a student in this subject at the moment. I will enclose his review of our sessions with this message.
