I'm a first-year Architecture student in the Honors College at the University at Buffalo, where I'm maintaining a 3.85 GPA while studying a major that depends heavily on applied math, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving under pressure. In high school, I graduated in the top ten of my class at Longwood with a 102 GPA and as an Honors Graduate, while earning strong scores across multiple AP exams. That combination gave me a lot of real test-taking experience and a deep familiarity with how high school math and science curricula are actually structured, which is exactly the kind of insight that helps when a student is trying to figure out not just the material but how to perform on the exam itself.
I have direct teaching experience from working as a counselor and weekend instructor with IALI, where I worked with students in both group and one-on-one settings, adjusting my explanations based on how each individual learned best. That experience taught me patience and how to read when a student is quietly lost versus genuinely following along, which is one of the most important skills in tutoring. I'm comfortable working with middle and high school students on Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and introductory Physics, and I tailor my pace to the student rather than rushing through a curriculum.
My approach is straightforward: I meet students where they are, break problems down into smaller steps when something feels overwhelming, and make sure they can explain a concept back to me before we move on, since that's the real test of whether it clicked. I know firsthand how discouraging math and physics can feel when a class moves faster than you can absorb it, and I focus on rebuilding confidence alongside the actual material. I'm patient, organized, and genuinely enjoy the moment when something finally makes sense to a student who'd been stuck on it.
