My name is Matt and I've been an artist my whole life. I am certified in art education from birth-12th grade. I do pencil drawings and paintings of landscapes, portraits, and just about everything else. I believe there are two kinds of artists; the artist that is born with natural skill and an artist that is taught using lessons and techniques. Both artists can be very successful. I believe all children should be exposed to the wonderful world of visual arts, either as a form of expression, a fun hobby, or eventually a job later on in life. All art lessons are age appropriate and geared towards the individual.
GUITAR!
I have been playing the guitar for 7 years. Like many other guitarists I taught myself how to play without formal lessons. Playing with other guitarists helped me learn the fundamentals of playing the guitar. Along the way I have learned basic music theory, which has helped me become a better musician, and in turn, helped me teach many people to start playing the guitar. I believe playing the guitar, or any instrument, is a great hobby. Learning to play the guitar is a challenge, but with time, patience and practice can be very rewarding and most of all, FUN!
SPORTS!
I have been playing sports my whole life. From football and baseball to collegiate lacrosse, I have learned skills necessary to compete at a higher level. Getting a head start in training for sports can make your child a better athlete, giving them an advantage on the field. Like all things, developing a skill takes time. The sooner a child learns the skills the better they will be.
