I have had a wonderful experience helping others like myself in learning and understanding mathematics. Ever since I was little, I was always best at math. At that time, I realized that helping others was my aim. Working my way up wasn't the easiest, but it sure was rewarding.

I have had a wonderful experience helping others like myself in learning and understanding mathematics. Ever since I was little, I was always best at math. At that time, I realized that helping others was my aim. Working my way up wasn't the easiest, but it sure was rewarding.

I usually like to consult ahead of any sessions to get a grasp of how proficient my clients are from their previous knowledge of math, as well as their presence in their current math class. In between the consultations and the sessions, I try to prepare some sort of lesson ahead of time so that even I can relearn and understand more about whatever topics they struggle with. Then, when it comes to the sessions, I ask if the clients have any questions they would like to ask or if they simply need clarifications. When it comes closer to the end of the sessions
College was the best experience I've ever had. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University at Albany (SUNY) in 2019 and with a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University at Albany (SUNY) in May of 2020. In my 7-8 years of experience tutoring others, I would always try to explain certain concepts in the most efficient ways possible. When I see them become complacent with understanding, I become delighted.

Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate in Math at UAlbany, researching in Mathematical Analysis while teaching undergraduate-level math classes and tutoring on the side. When I do get this degree, I hope to be a professor of practice, visiting other colleges and universities to teach and encourage people to learn and understand even the hardest concepts in math.

Jory, 14 lessons with John

Complete lack of technological application

John is using the old fashioned way of writing explanations on the actual classroom board. The only challenge is that the camera is positioned too far , is low resolution and he is using faded markers . The result is - impossible to see what is being discussed. Also , the recording of the class will be a very confusing explanation while looking at the shared portion of your own screen. We did not have a good experience with this tutor. Lack of technology.

Tutor responded:

Hi Roman, On that day, I explained that I was having a hard time writing on my pen tablet which was connected to my computer. I wasn't sure why this was happening, and I didn't have time to think of what else to do, so I did what I could.
