I enjoy mentoring (teaching) and helping people improve.

The subject areas that I offer the most value in are Math and Electrical Engineering. I earned a Bachelors' of Science in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson, and a Masters' in Electric Power Engineering from RPI, and have extensive industrial experience.

The Math courses I have taught include Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, and Calculus II. The Electrical Engineering courses I have taught include Electronic Instrumentation, Digital Electronics, and Introduction to Microcontrollers. Note that when the individual is interested in developing their skills, the setting is not crucial.

Some consider Math and Engineering to be mainly formulas and concepts to be memorized. My suggestion is that the different formulas and concepts should be considered tools to use. A carpenter has many tools, and learns to use them effectively to complete the task at hand. The formulas and concepts of Math and Engineering are likewise tools to use to complete the task at hand.

My approach is to build upon the individuals' existing knowledge (foundation), and then develop additional skills.

I look forward to hearing from you, and helping you achieve success in your studies.

BSEE from Clarkson College, MS Electric Power Engineering from RPI, New York State Professional Engineer Over 30 years experience My undergraduate studies included 2 semesters of Math education, basically a Calculus tutor, and 1 semester as an Engineering course assistant, as a tutor. My work career includes over 8 years of classroom training and one-on-one training in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, with the majority being one-on-one training. I believe that my educational background and work experience, and my interest, has prepared me to be an excellent tutor in areas that I am familiar with.

Methodical approach; calm and professional demeanor

Bob is the best! Our daughter has anxiety and she is able to work with Bob without any problem because of his kind and calm demeanor. Bob is always very punctual and is super reliable. He always has availability, responds to messages quickly and makes his schedule work for you. Our daughter was out of school for 3 months due to medical reasons and needs help to catch up on all she missed. She needed this last lesson before a new school week so she didn't fall further behind. Bob made himself available on a Sunday during a snow storm to tutor her! What dedication to his job and our daughter! It made us feel valued and assured. We highly recommend him!

Wonderful Calculus Tutor

Bob is a skilled, knowledgeable, and patient tutor. His years as a Calc professor show in the way he was able to immediately identify my daughter's weaknesses. In order for her to do well in Calc, he's also helping her shore up her algebra skills after 2 years of remote learning left large knowledge gaps. I appreciate his ability to go backward and forward: teaching new concepts while also making sure she has a stronger math foundation. He does a good job of breaking down complex ideas and checks along the way to make sure she really grasps what was covered before moving on. I highly recommend Bob as a tutor and look forward to continuing weekly tutoring with him.

Patient and well informed

Bob has helped me understand my circuits class material by explaining the areas I am not understanding and doing it with patience. If we do come across material he isn’t familiar with he takes the time to review concepts and is always well prepared for our meeting times.
