I have an undergraduate degree in Biology and a MAT in secondary science (Biology) from SUNY Binghamton.  I held National Board certification for 10 years.  I have been a full time science teacher at Mohonasen HS for over 25 years.  In that time I have taught 8-12 grade Biology, AP Biology, Introduction to Medical Science and Anatomy & Physiology. I have worked in both the nursing and radiation technology programs.  I wrote my district's 5th grade science curriculum and ran an after school STEAM program for grades 3-5 at Sage College as part of the Help Yourself Academy.   This program worked with students from underserved urban populations.  
I have extensive tutoring experience in HS and college level students.  I am an AP Reader and a coach for the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI).   I coach and develop curriculum for NMSI.   I work nationally, both in person and online, with teachers and students.  I am also a scoring professional for the edTPA.  I have multiple awards in education.  This includes the U.S. Department of Education American Star of Teaching for New York State.  I also received Recognition of Excellence on Praxis II in Biology.
