I began my career in education as a high school sophomore tutoring local middle school students in subjects ranging from chemistry to social studies to ACT/SAT prep. I learned quickly that I loved the work of helping others to truly grasp the roots of key concepts, and my passion for the process drove me to continue tutoring as an undergraduate at Villanova University through their Learning Supports Services program. While completing my coursework in three majors (Honors, Political Science, and Arabic) and two minors (Economics and History), I helped other undergraduates achieve success in their courses by teaching them proven strategies to write strong argumentative essays and solve complex economics problems.

I entered the world of finance as an analyst at Goldman Sachs after graduating magna cum laude from Villanova in 2013, but returned to my passion of education by enrolling at Columbia University's Teachers College in the fall of 2016. There, my professors imparted proven student-centered learning strategies that I had ample opportunities to apply while student teaching full-time and tutoring high school students at night. These period really helped me learn the craft of teaching in a structured, systematic way, and its lessons define the way I approach difficult concepts with students to this day.

I completed my coursework at Teachers College in the summer of 2017 with a 4.0 GPA, and immediately begin my full-time teaching career as a member of the Social Studies department at Scarsdale High School. Teaching at Scarsdale has allowed me to fully develop my identity and approach as a teacher. I love academics and learning, and bring an unrivaled level of enthusiasm to every lesson I teach. I believe firmly that each student learns differently, and do everything possible to tailor my a

Patient and great at math

I’m taking intermediate macro summer course with a lot of tough math that’s moving way too fast. I’ve never been great at calculus but he was very knowledgeable and very good at slowing the process down, explaining step by step.

Great tutor

Chris explained everything on each problem. I would definitely recommend booking a session again! I know I will. He was very nice and helpful and I appreciate him a lot!

Chris is very calm, knowledgeable, and patient.

Chris taught me how to write my research paper on COOP ( continuity of operational planning). He gives me his take on things and let me decide. He is giving me the confidence in research writing I didn't have before. He doesn't rush and make you understand the steps and how to approach writing with confidence.
