Hi, I am Gene. I am very dedicated and passionate Math tutor. Given my 10+ years of teaching/tutoring experience, I am capable of finding the right approach for each individual student and accommodate specific needs and requests related to variety of math subjects.
I hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics and currently a full-time professor in one of the Westchester's County colleges. I started my teaching/tutoring career while being a graduate student. I have tutored at the "math lab" for three years. Math Lab is an open tutoring lab where students come from many different subject areas and expect to get immediate help. This taught me to interact with different personalities and adopt new strategies to explain ideas clearly. Further, while being a teaching assistant during graduate school, I taught various courses, this helped me to develop my own ways to get hard points across to students and explain every idea from few different ways.
The greatest joy, I find in being an educator, is the moment when the student with no initial appreciation and respect for mathematics , finally gets the material and starts to understand the subject and becomes more confident at what he/she has learned from me.
