I've taught AP United States and European History, and have been a table reader for both exams--I've actually graded the essays for the College Board. This experience gives me a broader insight into the tests and how to prepare for them than many other teachers. This experience gives me a broader insight into the tests and how to prepare for them than many other teachers. I have also taught regular Regents level courses in United States History and Government and Global History and Geography. My test results have been excellent! I know the tests and the content!
Right now, because the Covid crisis will require some online or distance learning, having a tutor to help students with online assignments and keeping them on task can be very helpful as parents either return to work or have to focus on working from home. Besides the academic advantages, there is also the reduction in stress at home that one might want to consider.
I have also taught numerous electives, such as Participation in Government, Financial Literacy, and several law courses (I'm a member of the New York State Bar, but I no longer practice law). I emphasize study skills, literacy, essay writing, and content mastery as keys to academic success. I believe that there are several keys to academic success: a student's desire to succeed, a firm foundation in study skills, literacy, and support from parents and teachers. Content knowledge mastery will result from all of these.

**Please also note that due to travel and time restrictions, I cannot accept appointments in Nassau County, Queens, Brooklyn, nor in New Jersey nor Rockland County. Also, I do not tutor Economics nor AP World History.**

I taught AP US History for more than 5 years in public schools and Regents-level US History and Government for more than seven years, both with excellent passing rates. I have also been trained to grade the AP essays for the College Board and graded the actual essays for the College Board for 6 years. I know the course and the revised requirements for the course quite well. I have used that training to help my students achieve a great deal of success on the exam and mastery of the US history content.

When I was a legal editor, I often did research and classifications of cases dealing with criminal law and procedure.

I have taught Global History 9 and 10 with excellent student results on the New York Sate Regents. Additionally, I taught AP European History for four years and graded the essays for the College Board, so I know the subject rather well and am very familiar with coaching students to be superb essay writers.
