I am a high school senior who has been admitted to the University of Chicago, where I plan to study economics and continue working with quantitative subjects at a high level. Throughout high school, I have consistently taken advanced math courses, including honors and AP-level classes, and developed a strong foundation in algebra, functions, and problem-solving. I also scored a 780 on the math section of the SAT, which reflects my ability to apply these skills under pressure.
My approach to tutoring math is centered around clarity and structure. I focus on helping students truly understand the “why” behind concepts rather than just memorizing steps. Whether it’s algebra, geometry, or precalculus, I break problems down into simple, repeatable patterns so students can approach new questions with confidence. I also emphasize common mistakes and test-taking strategies, which helps students improve both accuracy and speed.
In addition, I currently tutor students for the SAT and have approximately two years of tutoring experience working with peers and younger students. I have consistently helped students improve their understanding and performance in math through one-on-one support and targeted practice. I work best with middle and high school students, and as a current student myself, I understand where confusion typically happens and how to explain concepts in a way that actually makes sense. My goal is not just to help students complete assignments, but to build long-term confidence and independence in math.
