I am deeply committed to helping students grow as thinkers, writers, and informed citizens. I genuinely love teaching history and civics because it allows students to connect the past to the world they live in today. Supporting students as they gain confidence and achieve their academic goals is the most rewarding part of my work.
I hold a Master of Science in Education in History (Secondary Education) from The College at Brockport, State University of New York and a Bachelor of Arts in History (Secondary Education) from Saint Joseph’s College. I am a New York State professionally certified Social Studies teacher for grades 7–12.
Over the course of my teaching career, I have taught 11th grade U.S. History (Regents and AP-aligned), 9th and 10th grade Global History, and 12th grade Participation in Government and Civics. I design and deliver standards-aligned instruction using Common Core literacy strategies, with a strong emphasis on document analysis (DBQs), evidence-based writing, historical argumentation, critical thinking, and civic reasoning.
I regularly integrate technology into my instruction to support both in-person and virtual learning environments, and I tailor my teaching to meet each student’s individual needs. I develop personalized learning goals, adapt curriculum, and provide targeted support in writing, reading comprehension, and course content, including Regents and AP exam preparation.
My teaching approach is student-centered, structured, and skills-based, with the goal of helping students become independent, confident learners. In AP U.S. History and Regents courses, I specialize in DBQ and LEQ writing, thesis development, document analysis strategies, test-taking skills, and time management. I break complex historical concepts into clear, manageable steps so students feel prepared, capable, and successful.
