Personally, I find the greatest reward in enrichment, aiding students in pursuing their interests to deeper levels than they would otherwise be able to pursue in school. At the same time, any student who can achieve the success they desire is a win in my book.
I have taught and tutored each math subject from Common Core elementary education through to Calculus AP, and sciences through a similar level. I have worked in several private schools, primarily with students with difficulties in certain areas, but most enjoy working with students with the determination and drive to succeed.
Students seeking aid in math generally are taught to think in numbers in very particular ways- as a tutor I prefer to find physical and conceptual ways a student works with in their subject of interest or daily life to explain equations, operations, and formulae. This, coupled with passing on study strategies, helps students achieve understanding and mastery of their subjects- rather than just succeeding on a test.
