The breadth of my educational experiences and my employment experiences form the basis for my approach to tutoring.
First, I listen to the tutee and the parent(s) as they explain their goals. These may be focused simply on success in a particular English, History, or writing course or be more broad based. Next, I like to become familiar with what interests the tutee has outside of the subject area. I will incorporate these interests into the tutoring sessions as much as possible to maintain interest. Finally, I propose a strategy to achieve the described goals.
As I’ve mentioned, my approach to tutoring has its roots in over 15 years responding to business people who have called on me to analyze complex problems for them, communicate efficient strategies to resolve them, and to implement those strategies. In my free time I have engaged in creative writing, have been praised, and on occasion published.
My educational credentials include a Jurist Doctorate, Masters of Intellectual Property Law, and a Bachelor's in the Administration of Justice.
