I would love to begin a relationship with you and your child to build success in the classroom. I have over 25 years of teaching experience in the classroom setting and as a one-on-one tutor. I am recently retired but want to continue helping students. I have a Masters Degree in English and hold the following teaching certifications: English (grades 7-12), Literacy Specialist (grades 5-12), and Special Educator (grades 7-12).

I am dedicated to my students and work diligently to determine their learning strengths and needs. I design lessons that use their strengths to build their skills in all levels of academics- reading, writing, speaking and listening. In addition to academics, I aid students in study skills, which transcend all subject areas and aid in note taking, organization and time-management for long-term assignments. With the right time, motivation, and learning strategies- all students can succeed!

I hold an Advanced Certification in Special Education for grades 7-12 from Long Island University. I have worked with students with ADHD throughout my teaching career. ADHD students are some of the brightest I’ve had the pleasure of teaching. I specialize in designing lessons that address their unique needs in focus, organization, and time management.

I also hold an Advanced Literacy Specialist Certification for grades 5-12 from Long Island University. I have worked with students with dyslexia throughout my teaching career. I specialize in designing lessons that address their unique needs in decoding, comprehension, and vocabulary instruction.
