Hello there! My name is Syd. I am a certified Technology Teacher (k-12) in NYS. I have 4 years of instructing high school engineering and 1 year of middle school general technology. I earned my M.S. in Biomimicry in ‘21 from Arizona State university.

I have a strong understanding of foundational mathematics, biology and translating biology to human applications, as well as experience teaching courses on computer aided design and technical writing. At the end of the day though, I enjoy helping others understand and identify how to learn. I hope I can be a resource for you to better understand a subject or help you be an overall stronger learner.

I have a strong foundation of this subject matter during my time as a high school teacher as well as reinforcing this learning during my undergraduate studies.

I am confident at speaking in front of others, I have been instructing and giving lessons to groups of 15-50 students at a time (ages 12-18), I have excelled in public speaking courses, and have coached others in various athletic activities.

I have taught with AutoCAD software in courses such as Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Computer Aided Deign, and Electronics / Robotics. I am comfortable with 2D and 3D modeling spaces as well as extracting files for CNC machining (Laser, Routing and Milling, 3D Printing, Vinyl Cutting)

I genuinely enjoy helping others. It’s a huge reason why I entered the teaching profession. My hope is to help you internalize information, help clarify the grey areas, and identify the process of how you learn so you can reach those milestones to pursue what you love doing.
