Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Completed many Algebra classes with honors at Suffield Academy, a prestigious private boarding High School just outside of Hartford CT. Continued to implement the work in my Engineering coursework at Cornell University, where I also graduated with honors
Anatomy

Anatomy

I have a deep background and understanding of Anatomy that is a consequence of over a decade of work in the Biotechnology industry and from completing Cornell University's Biology tract ( both General (2 semesters) and working for three years in Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of Rochester. And I've been tutoring Anatomy in the area as recently as this past year but consistently throughout the years I've been tutoring in the Rochester NY area and online. I am a patient, diligent, and thorough good listener of a tutor that will methodically work with you and identify and rectify your weaknesses in the material.
Biochemistry

Biochemistry

At Cornell University, I completed auto-tutorial Biochemistry (they gave us the Lubert Stryer textbook and basically just said go do it at home, good luck with it, and we'll see you back here on campus when it's time to do testing..............however, the computer-based side class, BIOBM 334 was actually a class that met on campus) so yes: BIOBM 330 Principles of Biochem Indiv Instr B+, BIOBM 334 Comp Graphics and Molec Bio A- ......but that's not all, I went on to complete a year of PhD studies in BMCB (Biochemistry, Molecular, and Cellular Biology) at the University of Rochester, where again I pulled an A- and a B+. So yes, I have a very significant Biochemistry background. ( this PhD program implemented both Lubert Stryer's text and Voet & Voet )
Biology

Biology

Heavy Biology curricula at a prestigious private High School, "Suffield Academy" just outside Hartford CT. (General, Honors, and AP Biology (got a 5) ). Then heavy Biology curricula at "Cornell University" ( BIO G 101 - 104 ( lecture courses and laboratory courses (this was the entirety of General Biology for Majors, plus I then took Neuroscience, Microbiology, Genetics, and autotutorial Biochemistry) in Ithaca NY within the Bachelors of Science degree in BEE (Biological and Environmental Engineering).
Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

I majored in Biological and Environmental Engineering (BEE) at Cornell University, which I took CHEME 323 Fluid Mechanics and obtained excellent grades. I've implemented the course-work both working professionally in the field of Engineering (for example at Porous Materials Incorporated in Ithaca NY) and in private tutoring sessions in the Rochester NY area that I've been giving for over 10 years at this point.
Chemistry

Chemistry

Scored top of my class in General Chemisty and AP Chemistry in high school at "Suffield Academy", a prestigious private school in Connecticut just outside the city of Hartford. Then scored near the top of my class in college General Chemistry (Chem 207 and Chem 208) at "Cornell University", where I also landed significantly above the mean in Organic Chemistry (Chem 357). Implemented my Chemistry knowledge and skills throughout over a decade of work in the Biotechnology industry also, where I was either working under a Principal Investigator on NIH-grant-funded research or working as a mercenary technician in private Biotech or Engineering start-up companies.
Common Core

Common Core

I scored excellent in Math at private high school "Suffield Academy" and in college at "Cornell University". I've been tutoring common core for over ten years in the Rochester NY area.
Composition (Music)

Composition (Music)

I took two semester of Music Theory near the beginning of my years of study at "Cornell University" in a music department that provided great background in Classical theory which included composition-work. This followed my years of study of Music Theory at "Suffield Academy", a prestigious private high school outside Hartford CT. However, at Cornell, I was a member of a highly successful pop-psychedelia singer-songwriter band (we got booked more than any other band at the University with more gigs than any other over the course of our years there) in which I actually personally composed five songs that we subsequently recorded in a professional studio in adjacent town. I was also a guitarist in the Cornell Jazz Ensembles both semesters of what I believe were all the years that I studied at the University. It should be noted that the legendary Donald Byrd was eventually our jazz instructor for multiple semesters. During the course of these years, I ventured into jazz composition. I've also studied extensively at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY and have fronted numerous other psychedelic singer-songwriter bands in the years followed college that have successfully gigged in the Northeastern United States, in which I served as the primary composer.
Ear Training

Ear Training

I have high-quality abilities to discern intervals based on relative pitch skills that I was taught in relevant courses in Classical Music at Cornell University and in Jazz at Eastman School of Music. Most musicians will tell you that having relative pitch skills is superior to having perfect-pitch, the ability to identify a note based solely on hearing its frequency alone (without another note to base an interval off of). I implement these skills regularly when comping rhythm guitar or playing lead guitarwork throughout all of my work in the music industry, which includes both recording and playing live primarily in bars, clubs, and coffeeshops in the city of Rochester NY, although I have been in bands that toured the Northeastern U.S.A.
Ecology

Ecology

Extensive academic experience with Earth Science, Ecology, and Geology divided between studies at a prestigious private high school called "Suffield Academy" just outside Hartford CT and at Ivy League college "Cornell University" in Ithaca NY, but also many tutoring hours with Earth Science, Ecology, and Geology over the course of over a decade private tutoring in the city of Rochester NY and in the surrounding suburbs. If you are making a serious inquiry and really are considering paying me what I'm worth ( which we can say is whatever I'm asking actually, then message me and I will even give you a reference I've saved who's son I passed with flying colors at Pittsford Mendon High School. )
Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

I took Electrical Engineering circuits during my final semester of undergraduate work, which was local to my home city of Rochester NY at the "University of Rochester" instead of where I did the bulk of my undergraduate studies which was "Cornell University". I've been tutoring Electrical Engineering circuits in the Rochester NY area for over ten years.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

Most of my Elementary Math chops were obtained in private high school at "Suffield Academy" in Suffield Connecticut but they were consistently implemented and reinforced throughout my undergraduate education at "Cornell University" and throughout over 10 years working in Biotechnology Technician and Engineering Technician positions in the industry and over 10 years working in the private tutoring industry.
Elementary Science

Elementary Science

Scored at the top of my class in Elementary Science in my years of schooling leading up to attending a prestigious private high school called "Suffield Academy" in Connecticut right outside of the city of Hartford. (3.65 GPA). I continued to implement the knowledge-base and skills set throughout the entirety of my undergraduate studies at "Cornell University" in Ithaca, New York, where I graduated with a 3.25 GPA with a Bachelors of Science in Biological and Environmental Engineering. Then again I continued to implement the knowledge-base and skills set throughout over a decade of scientific and mathematical work in the Biotechnology and Engineering industry, working a number of positions supporting Principal Investigators doing NIH-funded research at the "University of Rochester" but also working a number of positions for private Engineering start-ups. Continued implementation then took place during the year of my PhD studies in Biochemistry, Molecular, and Cellular Biology again at the "University of Rochester".
English

English

I have lived in the United States my entire life and English is my native language. I have an absolute mastery of the English language and subject matter from English courses throughout my pre-undergraduate schooling which was in Fairport NY public schools up through 9th grade then at a prestigious private school outside Hartford CT called "Suffield Academy" for 10th grade through graduation, upon which I had accumulated a 3.65 grade point average but also from notoriously rigorous and challenging in their English subject matter content courses called 'Freshman Writing Seminars' at Cornell University, of which students are required to complete two of. However my mastery of English was implemented and reinforced throughout the vast remainder of the courses I took in college. I have vast experience private tutoring in the Rochester NY area, a pursuit which I switched to full-time after working technician jobs post-college for a number of years. I've been doing the private tutoring successfully in the area for between a decade and fifteen years, probably for 12 or 13, during which I have successfully executed tutoring the English language multiple times to non-native-speakers and have also successfully tutored many English-related and literature-related courses at virtually all school levels (grade-school, middle-school, high-school, and college).
GED

GED

I am a Cornell University graduate that majored in Biological and Environmental Engineering, which was half in the school of Ag. & Life Sciences and half in the college of Engineering......verifiable ( university will dump out my official electronic transcript from their server to whatever email you provide within about 24 hours ). Anyways, I've always been better at Math than anything else, excelling in Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and then multiple semesters of Calculus (follow Precalc of course) starting in a prestigious private school outside Hartford CT called "Suffield Academy". I've been tutoring mathematics in the Rochester NY area for over 10 years. GED is cakewalk for me as is teaching it, so give me a shot.
General Music

General Music

I took Music Theory at "Cornell University" in a music department that provided great background in Classical music which consisted of a heavy amount of composition-work but obviously also included comprehensive General Music. This followed my years of study of Music Theory at "Suffield Academy", a prestigious private high school outside Hartford CT. At Cornell, I was a member of a highly successful pop singer-songwriter band (we got booked more than any other band at the University with more gigs than any other over the course of our years there) in which I actually personally composed five songs that we subsequently recorded in a professional studio in adjacent town, Newfield NY (at Electric Wilberland Studios) while also playing the role of main guitarist in the Cornell Jazz Ensembles in all semesters of what I believe were all the years that I studied at the University. I've also studied extensively at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY and have fronted numerous other singer-songwriter bands in the years followed college that have successfully gigged in the Northeastern United States (examples include 'Stone Spoon Baboon' and the current 'September Member and the Mad Lads') in which I've served as the primary composer.
Genetics

Genetics

Majored in Biological Engineering (BEE) at Cornell University and completed Genetics in a summer session at the University, obtaining excellent grades. Has implemented the course-work both working for years in Biotechnology positions and also in private tutoring in the Rochester NY area.
Geology

Geology

Extensive academic experience with Geology and Earth Science divided between studies at a prestigious private high school called "Suffield Academy" just outside Hartford CT and at Ivy League college "Cornell University" in Ithaca NY, but also many tutoring hours with Earth Science and Geology over the course of over a decade private tutoring in the city of Rochester NY and in the surrounding suburbs. If you are making a serious inquiry and really are considering paying me what I'm worth (whatever I'm asking actually, then message me and I will even give you a reference I've saved who's son I passed with flying colors at Pittsford Mendon High School.
Guitar

Guitar

I've been playing guitar on the border of semi-professionally to professionally for exactly twenty-five years at this point after coming to by route of private lessons with an excellent teacher in high school and post-collegiately through the professor of Jazz guitar, Bob Sneider, at the Eastman School of Music. My college band dominated the Cornell University music market for the duration of our undergrad and released an album. I am a diligent, patient, and highly-knowledgeable guitar instructor with over a decade of experience giving private lessons.
Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Majored in Biological Engineering at Cornell University and took ENGRD 202: Statics: Mechanics of Materials in a fall semester, obtaining an A- in the class. Has implemented the course-work both working professionally in the Engineering field (for example at Porous Materials Incorporated in Ithaca NY) but also in private tutoring sessions in the Rochester NY area for over 10 years.
Microbiology

Microbiology

Hello, I took Microbiology at Cornell University in the summer session format and scored very highly (the grades are verifiable via the University dumping out an official copy of my electronic transcript from their official server to whatever email we provide them with within less than 24 hours). However, I have also been privately tutoring the subject locally in person and nationwide online for between a decade and 15 years with a very high success rate.
Music Theory

Music Theory

I've fronted many bands playing rhythm and lead mostly in the Northeastern USA. I studied Music Theory both in a prestigious private high school (Suffield Academy) just outside Hartford CT and at Cornell University in Ithaca NY, where I focused on Classical Music Theory but also Jazz Studies. I also took Jazz guitar and studies at The Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

My physiology background started with high school general Biology followed by AP Biology. It continued into undergraduate studies with fall semester Biology for majors plus the corresponding laboratory course (even though I actually majored in Biological and Environmental Engineering) and then spring semester Biology for majors plus its corresponding laboratory course. There were also elements of the subject in my auto-tutorial Biochemistry course (still at Cornell University} and in other Biology-related courses taken from 1999-2004. However, my major Physiological experience was derived from working as a level-4 Laboratory Technician at the University of Rochester from 2004-2006 in "Pharmacology and Physiology". In this position, I engaged in various bench-science Physiological experiments and actively participated in weekly morning meetings for the laboratory.
Physical Science

Physical Science

Studied and scored very high in Physical Science throughout my years of schooling prior to doing it again at "Suffield Academy", a private, prestigious high school just outside of Hartford Connecticut. Further reinforcement of the subject matter continued to take place throughout my undergraduate studies at "Cornell University", an Ivy-league college in Ithaca, New York as I completed a Bachelors of Science degree in Biological and Environmental Engineering. Then there was additional further reinforcement of the subject matter knowledge and skill sets throughout over a decade of work in the Biotechnology industry also, where I was either working under a Principal Investigator on NIH-grant-funded research or working as a mercenary technician in private Biotech or Engineering start-up companies.
Physiology

Physiology

Extensive Neuroscience coursework (primarily Cornell's BioNB 222, which had a rotating cast of the top professors in the field that worked at the University in Research positions (and obviously teaching positions). However I also worked directly in the field as an employee of the department of Pharmacology and Physiology in the University of Rochester, working on NIH-funded research with mouse models, studying PLC epsilon and the K-ras oncogene primarily. This work lasted for the better part of three years, after which I embarked on a PhD attempt in BMCB (Biochemistry, Molecular, and Cellular Biology, also at the University of Rochester. The PhD work was placed on hiatus while I resumed studying music and playing semi-professionally, simply now filling the free time I've encountered with furthering my academic pursuit.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Passed the Wyzant subject test for sure, predicable though since I completed a heavy algebra curriculum in private high school "Suffield Academy" prior to reinforcing it for years in various Math courses throughout my undergrad at "Cornell University"
PSAT

PSAT

Scored high myself and have successfully tutored many PSAT students
Regents

Regents

I completed Regents work at my private high school "Suffield Academy" and continued to implement it throughout my undergraduate studies at "Cornell University". I've been tutoring Regents successfully in the Rochester NY area for over a decade.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I am a Cornell University graduate that majored in Biological and Environmental Engineering, which was half in the school of Ag. & Life Sciences and half in the college of Engineering......verifiable ( university will dump out my official electronic transcript from their server to whatever email you provide within about 24 hours ). Anyways, I've always been better at Math than anything else, excelling in Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and then multiple semesters of Calculus (follow Precalc of course) starting in a prestigious private school outside Hartford CT called "Suffield Academy". I've been tutoring mathematics in the Rochester NY area for over 10 years
Voice (Music)

Voice (Music)

I have heavy vocal technique as a consequence of multiple vocal coaches instructing me through the years and from completion of many methodology books. My first instructor was a member of 'Cayuga's Waiters', the premiere acapella group at Cornell University, and was also the other singer in my jam-pop band which got more gigs on both hills of the Universities/Colleges in Ithaca NY from 1999 - 2004. I have since gone on to be the lead vocalist in many successful bands. I have significant knowledge of vocal physiology / biology and how to maintain your voice, exercise it, and break it in when preparing for performance.

Quite knowledgeable and professional.

Kyle and I worked on the topic of force vectors and throughout the entire time he and I were working together, he explained the concepts really clearly and concisely. Whenever I had a question or was unsure about a particular concept within this lesson, he would make sure to explain it to me the best way he could. It was absolutely lovely to have him as a tutor.

I had the pleasure of working with Kyle, who provided invaluable assistance with various chemistry concepts, including Lewis structures and molecular shapes. His expertise in determining atomic numbers and atomic mass was particularly helpful as I navigated through my studies. Kyle's ability to break down complex topics into understandable segments made a significant difference in my learning experience. What I appreciated most was his patience and willingness to answer all my questions, no matter how basic they might have seemed. He took the time to ensure I fully grasped each concept before moving on, which really helped solidify my understanding. Additionally, his flexibility in scheduling sessions around my availability was a huge plus, making it easier for me to get the help I needed without added stress. Overall, I am incredibly grateful for Kyle's support and guidance. His dedication to helping me succeed in my studies has made a lasting impact, and I feel much more confident in my chemistry skills now. Thank you, Kyle!

Review for Kyle V

Kyle is an excellent tutor with an advanced level of knowledge. He was able to talk through a very dense, complex paper with me during a session and clarify virology concepts that I was previously unfamiliar with. I appreciated that Kyle was willing to talk together about research and entertain questions/ideas that there is little-to-no literature on. I highly recommend Kyle for peer-reviewed academic literature analysis.
