I'm a Rochester native through and through. I graduated from Churchville Chili HS, and attended Roberts Wesleyan College where I studied Adolescent Education in Social Studies. I graduated with a Bachelors and became certified to teach 5-12 Social Studies, but received a job offer up in Alaska so I began teaching there. While in Alaska I taught for 2 years in 2 different locations, Brevig Mission, AK (99785) and Saint Michael (99659). While in Brevig I served as a Middle School generalist and taught combined 6-7th grade in every subject. When I moved to Saint Michael, I served as the 9-12th grade History and Science teacher. However, I missed Rochester and my home, so I resigned after 2 years, and moved back to the area.
My passion for teaching comes from a deep desire to help adolescents achieve their greatest potential. I currently work as an Admissions Counselor at Roberts Wesleyan College to continue fulfilling that desire, but I also want to continue teaching students in an academic way as well. I bring all the knowledge and experience that I have gained over years of observations, student teaching, teaching, and subbing in various classrooms, specifically within the realm of Social Studies. I look forward to working with YOU!
I have planned and instructed lessons for a multitude of History classes, including: American History 1&2, World History 1&2, Government and Politics, Economics, Geography, and Alaska State History. Additionally due to my training, I am also capable of creating and providing lessons in additional areas of interest, including religious studies, sociology, genocide studies, etc.
