Hello, I'm Nathan. In 2016, I graduated with three Bachelor's degrees in Psychology, Philosophy, and Neuroscience from the University of Rochester. I went on to receive a Master's degree in Psychology from the same university. I now work in NYC as a research analyst and tutor students in my free time.

My tutoring centers around three areas: data analysis, standardized test preparation, and college coursework.

Regarding data analysis, I have extensive experience with R, SAS, and Excel VBA. I regularly use these programs and my understanding of statistics to write evidence-backed reports and create visualizations that inform business decisions.

I also have extensive experience preparing students for their standardized tests. I use real testing materials to help familiarize students with what they'll face on the SAT and ACT. Practice is key! I also teach more general test-taking skills such as how to read more efficiently, how to keep a disciplined study schedule, and how to keep a positive mindset during the test. I'm available to work with students either one-on-one or in small groups.

Finally, I also tutor students in psychology and philosophy. I have many years of experience engaging with both of these fields. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate tenure, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in psychology, regularly holding office hours, creating and grading exams, and facilitating group discussions in the classroom. I also stay up to date with the latest developments in philosophy. For example, last year I did the voice narration for an audiobook that served as a general introduction to philosophy. And earlier this year, I voiced an audiobook on epistemology (a branch of philosophy dealing with knowledge and justification).

Whatever your needs, I look forward to working with you!

Nathan is kind and intelligent with adaptable skills!

I worked with Nathan for a little over 7 hours and had such a great experience. As a beginner to SAS, I was a bit overwhelmed with trying to figure out how to group, recode and rearrange data in a large dataset for an epidemiology project I'm working on. I'm so glad I found Nathan who helped me create a plan and patiently troubleshooted with me. My sessions with him were very efficient and he always had such positive energy. Though I only experienced Nathan's SAS tutoring, I feel confident in all the skills he listed in his bio and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a tutor in his area(s) of expertise. Thank you Nathan!!

Knowledgeable and patient with a great smile!

Nathan was great! He helped me understand the concept that I need to prepare a project for Critical Thinking. Critical Thinking is not the easiest to understand but Nathan brainstormed with me. If I didn’t completely understand the concept, he provided me with tips on how think about fallacy as it pertains to critical thinking. And he has a great smile!

Smart and Supportive

My experience with Nathan was excellent. He was able to get to the heart of the matter at the beginning of the session. I felt comfortable explaining where I feel I need help, he listened, and offered doable and creative suggestions that I can put into my study plan, in this case. Yet, I know I can apply those suggestions in other areas of my life as well. My area of concern is very sensitive for me, and I truly felt like I could say anything, and I did. A+.
