Greetings! I offer tutoring services in statistics and probability from the introductory to graduate level. Topics include probability & stochastic processes (introductory, applied and advanced measure-theoretic); theory of Inference; applied statistics; stochastic control & Markov decision processes (MDP); machine learning; Bayesian networks.

Greetings! I offer tutoring services in statistics and probability from the introductory to graduate level. Topics include probability & stochastic processes (introductory, applied and advanced measure-theoretic); theory of Inference; applied statistics; stochastic control & Markov decision processes (MDP); machine learning; Bayesian networks.
My tutoring approach is patient and interactive, and tailored for the students background. As appropriate, I will provide additional reading material and study plans. I believe in the frequent use of examples and feel it is especially important to emphasize the link between theory and application.
I earned a PhD in Statistics from the University of Toronto and have over 30 years’ experience teaching, tutoring and mentoring, primarily at the University of Rochester, with additional experience in research & development in private industry.
My academic credentials include authorship of many peer-reviewed publications in journals ranging from Annals of Statistics, Bioinformatics, SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, Lancet. I am author of two advanced textbooks covering a range of topics in statistics, probability, stochastic process and Markov decision processes.
