I have worked as a teaching assistant for advanced electrical engineering courses and have volunteered as a tutor for underprivileged students in the Rochester area. I love to teach and take an approach focusing on conceptualization and understanding before tackling the numerical problems themselves. I have found through my work with other students that emphasis on concepts leads to better retention and understanding of the materials - and can even help students catch their own mistakes when working!
My volunteer work was one on one and my teaching assistant experience has been in both a classroom setting and small group setting. I am comfortable teaching math, physics, chemistry, and electrical engineering course work. My goal is to benefit the students as much as possible, so any resources or recommendations the students or parents have are welcomed and will be implemented to the best of my ability.
