My love of tutoring has allowed me to work with students from elementary school through to college. I've done everything from helping children learn to read music for the first time to helping collegiate physics majors unravel the complexities of Quantum Theory. No matter the age or the subject, I find the most joy in helping a student understand all the details of a given problem and building new concepts based on what we already know.

I've recently graduated magna cum laude with a bachelors degree in Physics from a top 30 research university. I was inducted into the Sigma Pi Sigma Honors Society and made the Dean's List every semester, so I'm very familiar with what it takes to succeed academically. I professionally tutored in my institution's Learning Center for four years, where I taught Physics, Math, and Writing in personally designed, one-on-one sessions. In recognition of my work and reputation, I was promoted to be a Tutor Mentor for incoming tutors, where I advised incoming tutors and modeled best practices. My experience dates back to high school, working in my school's Writing Center with students struggling with their writing, and outside of school I mentored young students in violin playing and music theory through Buffalo String Works.

My tutoring philosophy comes down to one goal: I want to help my students be able to help themselves. My methodology focuses on learning by doing. I often create practice problems that model the material, in order to expose students to the hands-on methods of dissecting statements, identifying key strategies, and executing on a solution. If students are struggling with understanding the material, my top priority is adapting the delivery to fit a student's needs, be it through different explanations, visual models, or kinesthetic exercises. This way, students not only internalize the content but build the confidence they need to succeed on their own.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to set up a lesson. I look forward to hearing from you!

Quantum Physics

Quantum Physics

I've just graduated maxima cum laude with a bachelors in Physics, Highest Distinction, from the University of Rochester. My specialization is in Quantum Theory and Quantum Computation; during my time in Rochester, I conducted experimental analysis quantum superconducting and quantum optical phenomena and contributed to advancements in replications of the Sonoluminescence effect within a university lab. Theoretically, I specialize in applications of Quantum Games, or how the properties and behaviors of quantum mechanics can be realized in games.
Violin

Violin

I began studying violin at the age of 4 and have not stopped since. I now also play the viola, on which I took lessons at the Eastman School of Music. I've sat in concertmaster and principal viola positions in multiple orchestras, played in and coached multiple chamber ensembles, and have extensive experience working with violinists and violists of all ages and skill levels.
