I have a degree in songwriting, which may sound unmarketable, but learning how to express my ideas using succinct and impactful language has made me a better writer in general. I have written poetry since I was a young child. And I am currently working on three novels in various genres.

The key is finding and applying your angle or approach to the topic and then laying out your supporting ideas for an optimal flow of information. Word choice and the use of some different techniques will make your essay singular. I can teach you skills you will use throughout your life, and some techniques you can apply right now to become a better writer.

Grammar

I have been a professional journalist, writer, and editor for 25 years. In various roles and positions, I have become a copy editor, line editor, and knowledgeable grammarian. Personal statements, or job summaries, etc., are tricky to write. You have to be clever and succinct and persuasive in just a few sentences. Proofreading

I have been a professional writer, editor, and proofreader for more than 20 years. Every day, I work with writers on their stories, shaping their work into impactful experiences for the readers. I have tutored the writing staff over my career and recently served as Department Editor in my most recent job, where I edited and proofread everything that would go to clients. I also have a master's in science from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Songwriting

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music (BMUS) with a songwriting major. I play piano and sing. I have written songs in all styles, from pop, to alternative rock. I'd love to work with you on your music, or teach you the fundamentals of songwriting.

I am a journalist, writer, and editor with 25 years of experience building up my own vocabulary to apply it to my writing. Think of it this way: if you are an artist but only have two colors to paint with, your paintings will be very limited. The best way to build your vocabulary is by reading (and looking up the words you don't understand in the context of what you are reading).
