Hi! My name is Matthew and I graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a cumulative GPA of 3.90. I am currently in my gap year before dental school working as a dental assistant and private tutor. In my free time, I love cooking, running, going to the gym, and hiking with friends.

I have 3 years of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in English, Math, and Science. At the college level, I was an organic chemistry teaching assistant for 1 year. I am an extremely organized and detail-oriented person, and this shines in my tutoring where I take the time to help students create study plans and schedules, notes, and cheat sheets. My favorite way to help students understand concepts is by asking leading questions, allowing my students to think critically about scenarios that are related to the content they are trying to learn and understand.

I am very flexible and offer tutoring to students of all ages. For younger students, I tutor English, Math, and Science either using their classroom materials or creating my own specialized to the student’s needs. For older students, I focus on biology and test prep. I earned As in most of my general and upper level biology courses in undergrad and have experience teaching other students in these classes. I scored a 1510 (730 R/780 M) on the SAT and a 25AA on the DAT and have already helped many students with their test prep.
