Hi, I'm Shreya! I recently graduated from Brighton High School with a Regent Diploma and Mastery in Science. This fall, I am attending Northeastern University for a combined major of public policy, economics, and philosophy. Throughout my high school experience, I have experimented with several different teaching styles. My tutoring approach typically begins with questioning the student on the relevant topic we are going over that session to get their brain to start thinking. Then, I utilize lesson plans and a syllabus to go over the relevant information, while allowing time for quizzing. Afterwards, I try to quiz the student through fun, but informative games that can help test the student's knowledge in a comfortable setting. This tutoring method can range depending on the student's individual needs and I will be able to accommodate to those needs.
I have three years of tutoring experience for a local organization, RocPeerTutor. This is a non-profit, volunteering organization. In this organization, I worked one-on-one with three students and I taught English and Math to these students. These students ranged from the ages of 6-10 years-old. I applied my tutoring style to these students, while utilizing their provided syllabus, as each student had slightly different learning styles. Additionally, I kept combined tutoring sessions for when the students needed additional help and instructed the students in a class-like setting.
I want to help the students that work with me and be able to provide them with the assistance they need. Any resources or additional information from parents and students are welcomed and will help me with my tutoring approach. I respond to any messages quickly, so don't be shy to contact me! Feel free to also ask any additional questions or concerns you may have!!
