Hello! My name is Atanaska. I have a Master’s in TESOL from New York University as well as a Master’s in English and American Studies from Sofia University. I have been teaching English professionally for over 20 years in college outreach programs, non-profit organizations, and public and private schools.

In my teaching career, I have successfully taught students who have been at various literacy levels, have had a variety of prior educational backgrounds, and have demonstrated a range of abilities, needs, and interests. No matter your English level or educational background, if you want to learn English, I know you can!

Thanks to the richness of my teaching experience, our experience together will be just as rich. As a teacher, I will constantly keep your needs and interests in mind and adjust my teaching to address them in the best and most effective way.

I use a variety of teaching methods and approaches to help each one of my students develop their fluency and confidence in English. Having studied three different languages and being a native speaker of a fourth, I know exactly what you are going through and am aware of the difficulties you’ll experience – as well as the victories!

I love to help my students explore how English works, so it makes sense to them. I always consciously draw my students' attention to common word combinations and useful phrases to help them understand what they hear and read, so they can speak (and write) more fluently and confidently.
