Bio

I was born and raised on Long Island, knowing from a young age I wanted to be a teacher. I absolutely love History and Science and work very hard on raising my knowledge in both areas 24/7, 365 day a year. Above all it makes me happy to get students as excited as I am about school & learning. I enter my 5th year of teaching in Queens. 4 years were spent teaching U.S. History to a range of students, from ELLs to ISS students to general education. I also have experience teaching Constitutional Law, Economics and Government, and A.P. Government. This year I am teaching U.S. History to 8th graders in Middle School.

My job required me to get all students to pass the U.S. History regents. To that end, literacy is critical and I quickly learned how to get students who struggled to speak English to learn to command tough academic vocabulary.

I am constantly immersing myself in history. Every day I read books related to history, and when summer comes around it is simply a time for more learning for me. Since 2012 I have been taking history courses to further my knowledge, including my B.A. from Boston University where I majored in International Relations with a concentration in European History and Anthropology.

If you are looking for a tutor who can meet students on ALL skill levels, I am your person. I know how to work with students who have been in the United States for only 2 months, and students who are looking to score a 1600 on their SAT. No matter where you are currently, I will help you get to where you want to be.
