I am currently a sophomore undergraduate student pursuing a BS in Integrative Neuroscience. Some coursework I have completed related to my tutoring subjects includes General Chemistry, General Biology, General Psychology, Organic Chemistry I, and Anatomy and Physiology I.
I have roughly 2 years of tutoring, both voluntarily and paid. When it comes to my methods of instruction, it all depends on the subject I am teaching. Subjects such as General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry I approach teaching concepts and material through practice questions. Subjects such as General Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and General Psychology I approach teaching concepts and material through verbal and visual breakdowns and explanations. Visual breakdowns can be things such as a diagram of a cell with annotations indicating a biological process being depicted or a concept map branching to show all the functions of a human body system.
While I have experience teach students in elementary school (ages 5-10), the content I currently tutor would be applicable to high school students of all ages or underclassman college students. I am open to tutoring high school level subjects such as biology and chemistry and college level subjects that are equivalent to my coursework I have mentioned above. My experiences have been primarily in one-on-one tutoring sessions, though I have taught content to multiple people at a time, i.e., friends during college semesters. All of my paid tutoring sessions occurred remotely.
Due to being a college student and not always being available to tutor in-person in my home area, I greatly prefer to tutor remotely.
