High School Tutor in NYS Standards Global & US History

Hi there! I am a certified social studies teacher in New York State. I currently teach 9th and 10th graders in Global History & Geography, while also having experience tutoring 11th graders in US History curriculum. I have also worked in depth with 10th and 11th grade students in preparing for the NYS regents exams, with having 100% of my students pass the 10th grade global exam in 2026.

I graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a Bachelors degree in "Adolescent Education: Social Studies" and two years later completed my Masters in "Educational Technology", with a focus on educational technology tools and how to empower students to use technology to improve their learning capabilities. I currently have 5 years of teaching experience working with a variety of learners, and using different strategies to ensure that students excel and achieve the highest outcomes possible. On top of this teaching experience, I have nine years of experience as a volunteer firefighter teaching members in my department about emergency services, along with multiple years as a Scouting Merit Badge Counselor, working with students on various skills necessary to Scouting.

While tutoring, I believe the goal is for students to grasp an understanding of how our world today connects to the events of the past. That throughout history, many decisions have been made, inventions created, and events have established the world that we live in today. It is my goal for students to naturally realize these relationships, and apply this information to testing they have coming up, but also the world that they wills tep into once they graduate high school.
