My name is Lorri. Teaching is my passion. I have been teaching for the past twenty years. I have worked with students from kindergarten to fifth grade. I taught in my native country Jamaica and in the United States. I am a very patient dedicated teacher, who believes that all students can learn in the right environment.
My approach to teaching is assessing the student, then offer instructions to suit the student's need. Some students may grasp a concept quickly, while others will take a much longer time. I think that my job as a teacher is to help the student get there. Through my tutelage, I was able to save students who were on the verge of failure and doing summer school. I am aware that large class settings do not work well for all students, some do, but some get loss under such pressure.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
