Hi, there. I'm Charise and I love watching students "get it"- that light bulb "aha!" moment is what inspires me to do this work. Former Adjunct lecturer at Barnard and NYU, I have experience teaching students ranging from pre-school to college. I've taught at numerous universities around the nation and have over 15 years of private tutoring experience. I make information accessible, fun, interesting, and I have a sense of humor about the work that tends to put students of all ages at ease....
I make information accessible, fun, interesting, and I have a sense of humor about the work that tends to put students of all ages at ease. I'm also highly organized and teach skills that help keep students on track over long-term instruction. I can tutor math up to Algebra, test prep, Spanish, English/Writing/Grammar/Public Speaking, and a lot more.
Reading, Writing, Public Speaking, Vocabulary, Grammar
I've lived in South America, grew up learning Mexican Spanish, have taught grammar specific to Spain and love Spanish language and culture.
This is a tough time for all of us in academia but I'm relishing in the challenges presented by remote tutoring. It encourages focus and moment-to-moment communication that we otherwise take for granted. Already, I'm seeing students enjoy the connection they feel in on-line tutoring sessions. Positive energy is infectious and especially important right now. I hope that my sense of hope and joy in the work proves helpful to you too.
